Clinics

Developing countries like Kenya face several difficulties, quality health care being an especially critical challenge. Basic health care is not taught and therefore ignorance creates a devastating scenario in Kenya. Many people have to walk several miles to a clinic or district hospital with very limited staffing, equipment, and medicines. While there are a few quality health services available, the higher cost as well as the lack of education about health issues contributes to the continuing overwhelming health problems throughout most of the country.
We have witnessed how health education and available medical clinics can bring a drastic improvement in the physical well-being of children in just a very short time.
MpM provides health teaching in a variety of areas. A few especially important areas of health education include proper hand-washing (that includes soap and clean water), the use of bed nets to prevent insect-borne diseases, proper nutrition, safe food storage, and the importance of drinking only clean safe water.

We partner with Robyn Moore (KRN, PNP) and Jennifer Bennett (RN, MS, NP-C) of the “Least of These,” a ministry of World Gospel Mission, and several other certified health professionals to do regular health clinics for OVC (orphans and vulnerable children) in registered children’s homes and villages. Through regular medical check-ups, lives are being touched and the overall health of these children is now well-maintained. On several occasions, life-threatening illnesses, diseases, and disabilities have been detected, treated, and cured.
The overall health of children is a passion of Mahali pa Maisha’s ministry. We are in need of certified health professionals to join us in serving these little ones and bringing much-needed health education to the adults who care for these children so they can reach their full potential.
